Training and Development

At NIS, we believe in celebrating the diversity of the human race giving equitable opportunities to all faculty and staff.

To succeed at NIS, candidates need to be passionate, driven, dedicated, and believe in offering the best part of themselves towards the betterment of child education.

For these reasons, all of our academic staff are automatically enrolled in the NIS Training Academy. There, they receive intensive hands-on, minds-on coursework in the areas of cooperative learning, flipped classroom, flex model, and station rotation as integral components of our blended learning community.

Presentation Skills

Presentation skills are extremely essential for our NIS staff members to succeed professionally. In today’s business environment, the workplace is getting more competitive. It is no longer enough for one to have the necessary capability to do the job, but one must also be able to talk and write well and present oneself attractively to the audience. What better way to let other people know what you’re capable of than by presenting a great idea or a plan during a meeting. However, one needs to have the necessary presentation skills to succeed in this aspect.

Technology in the classroom enables the use of more interactive educational tools, which allows for a dynamic learning experience that directly benefits students. Interaction involves not only sharing ideas and information with someone else but also receiving feedback. At NIS, classroom computer technology is being used for different types of communication (presentations, class interaction, and collaboration). Students are required to be readers, writers, editors, and publishers and must be willing to collaborate and co-create closely with one another — all skills that are critical for students to learn as they grow to enter the workplace.

Classroom Management

Teachers play various roles in a typical classroom, but surely one of the most important is being the classroom manager. Effective teaching and learning cannot take place in a poorly managed classroom. In contrast, well-managed classrooms provide an environment in which teaching and learning can flourish. But a well-managed classroom doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. It takes a good deal of effort to create—and the person who is most responsible for creating it is the teacher.

Child Psychology

Child psychology is one of the many branches of psychology and one of the most frequently studied specialty areas. This particular branch focuses on the mind of the child and provides the teachers with the right techniques to fully understand them and help them with all the correct means. (What we want to see is the child in pursuit of knowledge and not knowledge in pursuit of the child.)

Leadership Skills

The Leadership Trainings are designed to address the latest challenges in leadership development and research. The most recent research suggests five critical areas in which all leaders and key decisions makers should be well versed and competent. These five competencies translate into strategies and programs that deliver high performance and long term results.

Communication skills

Good communication skills help to reduce the barriers erected because of language and cultural differences. NIS provide communication training to reap the benefits of effective workplace communication. Effective communication causes productivity to increase, and errors to decrease.

Time Management

As a teacher, developing good time management skills and habits will reap many benefits that will enhance your personal and professional life. Time management will not only prevent you from missing important personal and academic deadlines, but you will also have more time to relax, sleep well, eat right, and exercise regularly. This course will help our teachers diminish stress and contribute to a healthy mind and body.

Cooperative Learning Program (English, French & Arabic)

This is a new strategy and technique that helps teachers to transfer knowledge from student to student. Cooperative learning empowers all students by providing every child the opportunity to become a leader. This program also minimizes the gap between the active student and the shy student by engaging all students into group learning and activities.

Stress Management

The benefits of this course is to learn how to manage this condition by changing the way you respond to stress, making time for relaxation and learning healthier coping strategies.
